OK, I just bought a few packs- if you can call them that- of the new
97 Studio.  You get one large card and 6 (I think) regular cards.

What is everyones opinion on these large cards?  I mean, they are
nice, but big.

I like them a lot.  I've bought about 5 packs so far(I may be biased due
to pulling 2 gold press proofs).  I really like the 8x10's, but they do
seem to come damaged quite often

Hello !
I have a question...
Recently I have gotten a (1997 Studio Baseball)...Scott Rolen Hard Hat
Insert Card

Heres the problem...
That particular card is supposed to be numbered 1-5000
In the spot where the number is supposed to appear my card says "XXXX"
Now, I have talked to everyone that I can about this and here is what
I've heard thus far ;
-The company that makes the cards (Studio) said that it was a "promo"
card and I should send it back in for a numbered copy.
-It DOES NOT say "promo/sample" anywhere on it !
-Dealer here in town said that he did not think they had promo'ed the
Hard Hat cards
-I have heard from several sources that it is probably a press proof

Now obviously if its a press proof I would want to keep it...But if it
is a promo than I really would like to get a numbered card to replace
it.

Has anyone heard anything about this elsewhere?
Any good advice?

I'll agree -- nice, but big.  So much for the cards.

This Studio set definitely suffers from an absolutely criminal
waste of cardboard in the wrapper-envelopes.  If Donruss was on
the ball, they'd have tied this one in with a recycling program.
Despite the obvious creativity, delight, and fun that went into
the design of this set, I couldn't give it better than a D grade
overall.  I hope people are recycling their wrappers.  I only
opened two packs, and the wrappers went into the paper bin.

The regular 8x10's don't impress me. However the 8x10 Master Strokes
are excellent. I pulled a Molitor and have it framed in my hobby
room. I will add to it as opportunities arise. I wouldn't bother
with the regular 8x10. After all there are only 24 of them in the
set and it isn't hard to pull a superstar or hot rookie.

Enjoy!
