Problems with Signature Rookies?

Problems with Signature Rookies?

Post by V.J. Holla » Sun, 03 Dec 1995 04:00:00

Maybe it's just me but I've never had a problem with Signature Rookies
other than recent slow shipping. I'll excuse that because they just moved
to the midwest from PA.
I've bought a lot of boxes of Baseball and a lot of Tetrad and Autobilia
packs in the last two years. I've pulled a good mix of cards and even 2
Nolan Ryan signed cards.
I'm content pulling a lot of commons since I'm mainly an autograph
collector as long as I got the occasional Ben Grieve, Charlie Garner, or
Kevin Garnett.
To me it doesn't matter who owns Mail Order Concepts. They offer good
deals on stuff Signature Rookies is probably dumping as they go onto their
next product. Doesn't Classic end up on toystore shelves at discount low
prices each year?
Aren't cardshows full of dealers dumping Upper Deck, Topps, Score, and
everything else. Only probably %10 of product each year gets hot and is
truly limited.
Back to Classic. It upsets me more that I opened 2 boxes of Basketball
Rookies, *** for a good autograph and didn't even get an autograph in
one box. It upset me more because out of 4 boxes of Proline Football one
box also had no autograph.
Well, that's it for now.
Take care all,
Vinny

Problems with Signature Rookies?

Post by Ron Tanak » Sun, 03 Dec 1995 04:00:00

Has anyone out there had problems with Signature Rookies taking their
time in delivering your mail ins,

trying to give you another card instead of the one you mailed in?

having you send in box ends, case numbers, certified return receipt..
to prove that you sent your mail ins ...even though they claim its in
their computer.

Is it a coincidence that Mail Order Concepts are selling inserts that
people are saying they cannot find in the cases of product.

I've been told that Tim Flatt owns MOC also..is this true?

Please let me know

Howard

CONVENTIONAL WISDOM IS THAT TIM FLATT OWNS A LOT OF STUFF THAT NO ONE
KNOWS ABOUT.  HE HAS STATED, TO SCD & OTHERS, THAT HE HAS STARTED SOME
15 COMPANIES, & HAS LIQUIDATED ALMOST ALL OF THEM.  WHY????  WELL ...
YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT ...

TIM FLATT MAY SAY HE DOESN'T OWN THIS & THAT COMPANY, & FRANKLY, NOBODY
KNOWS FOR SURE EXCEPT THE PERSONS ACTUALLY INVOLVED.

SUFFICE TO SAY THAT "IN THE HOBBY", IT IS BELIEVED THAT TIM EITHER OWNS
OR OWNED, OR IS AFFILIATED WITH , OR HAS SOME SORT OF FORMAL OR
INFORMAL BUSINESS OR PERSONAL TIES WITH, (DOES THAT COVER ALL THE
THEORETICAL POSSIBLITIES?) COMPANIES AS FOLLOWS:

BTS
MAIL ORDER CONCEPTS (OR MO CONCEPTS)
FRONT ROW
SIGNATURE ROOKIES
SPECTRUM HOLDINGS

TIM FLATT HAS ADVISED THE HOBBY THAT MO CONCEPTS GETS NO SPECIAL DEALS
FROM S.R., & THAT MO CONCEPTS BUY ALL THEIR S.R. PRODUCT IN THE OPEN
MARKET.  HAVE NO OPINION HERE, EXCEPT IT SURE SEEMS MO CONCEPTS HAS A
LOT OF ALL THE BEST STUFF THAT S.R. EVER PUT OUT (ALONG WITH ALL THE
STUFF FRONT ROW & SPECTRUM PUT OUT PRIOR)

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE STRICTLY "OUR OPINION ONLY" ... TOM LEON
