A woman walked into a bank the other day and handed the teller a One Million
Dollar Bill - she wanted to open an account and have some of the money
transferred into her husband's account.

The teller accepted the Bill and made the transactions.

Dairy Queen, you're vindicated!

All I know is what I heard ... it was on the National News at 9 am (Pacific)
today (Sept 19) on a Chancellor Broadcasting Radio Station, which broadcasts
ABC News.

you don't mean that a bank teller accepted one of those "make believe" million
dollar bills??  the ones that the secret service was all upset about because of
their real look and feel??

My Great uncle worked all his life as a bank presedent. When he passed
away, I inherited a $100,000 bill. The one with the picture of Wilson on
it. I was told by my great aunt not to cash it in because there was only
six like it. My question is, is it still legel tender? Can I cash it
in... say to open an account or something? I tried to buy my house with
it but the people at the title company thought it was a joke.

You could certainly try to cash it in (hint:  larger bank and wait until the
million dollar note story goes away for about a year)

Such notes were never released for circulation and are illegal for
collectors to own.

If you truly have a $100,000 gold certificate I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
What's the price?

almighty trollness....

Lemme see if I got this straight.....Not uncle but Great uncle passes away,
probably not in the recent period of time.

You're presumably smart enough to purchase a house, but *try* to do it with a
single note, that you spent no time researching.

Title company thought it was a joke; whole world laughed along with you, yet to
this very day, you have no idea if it's legal tender or not....

A.) You are more FOS than I even first thought.

B.) Are things really that slow in Beatle-Land these days?

C.) As I posted before, of all the Usenet groups you could've landed on, how
did we at RCPM get so lucky?

D.) I'll give you $100.00 for it, OK?

That's exactly what jstonefeel is accusing you of.

Are you now admitting to it?

Are you waiting for him to hang a sign around his neck?

The minute this peckerwood landed here, I spotted him as a troll. Looks like he
got you and Dobac this time.

Your troll-dar is slipping, my friend....

I must admit... the closest I ever came to a Wilson was when I had my
face pressed against the glass at the Smithsonian.
I really do have the two dollar bill and the five dollar Elvis coin,
though.
