HELP! Question on Barbie dye-job

Post by Shalamar Realt » Fri, 02 Apr 1999 04:00:00

Hi Everyone!

I'm experimenting with changing the color (a streak) on one of my barbie
dolls hair. I don't want to do a reroot, but color just a streak of hair.
Does anyone out there know an effective way of changing the color or redying
it so the color doesn't wash out when I set the style? I was thinking of a
permanent marker (yes, I'm going for a wild look) such as the crayola
permanent colors. Would this work? Please, if anyone knows, I'd sure
appreciate the help.

Thanks,

I used a wasable marker in a blonde dolls hair.
5 months later it is still there with no fade effect.

Try to doing it a couple of times with a marker for a rich vibrant effect. One
time is never enough.

If this does not work try weaving colored ribbon in the dolls hair. I recently
started re-doing barbies and tried this method and it came out beautiful.
My color combo was burgandy & black silk ribbon in black hair. I left a few
pieces longer for a wispy effect.
