In December of 1989, Barb and Carol Moore, a mom and daughter-in-law, opened
a small shop in Nevada, Ohio. They called it the "M&M Tree," named after the
two women. The shop was small with only a few dolls and other homemade
In November of 1990, due to the illness of Barb's husband, a house was
purchased at the present location: 127 E. Walker Street, Upper Sandusky,
Ohio. This was much larger than our other shop and we expanded our
inventory, carrying many more dolls, such as Johanna Zook, Lee Middleton,
Fayzah Spanos, Precious Moments, Kingstate, Mattel Barbies, Madame
Alexander, Lloyd Middleton and many more. We also carry Boyds Bears, doll
furniture and a full line of TY products as well as other fine gifts.
In 1993, the shop name was changed to "Young At Heart." This was influenced
by women stopping by to admire our many dolls but saying they didn't have
any daughters or they were too old to buy dolls for themselves. We just told
them "your just as old as you feel." At present, we have young and old
alike, as well as some men stopping by to purchase that special doll or
other gift for themselves or that special someone.
Carol left the business in 1991 and Barb ran it until 1997 when Sandy Nye, a
young mother of three girls stopped in to help and finally found herself a
full time employee.
You can stop by anytime and be greeted by a small child, whether it be one
of Sandy's girls or Barb's grandkids. These are our live dolls who get so
e***d when the UPS man stops by with a surprise box. If you get a chance
to stop by, please do so at "Young At Heart" 127 E. Walker Street, Upper
Sandusky, Ohio 43351 or order that special item right here from our online
