Giganews has been flaky all evening.  Constant 'invalid username or
password' errors.  I think Forte uses their NNTP servers, like Earthlink
does.  They sell bulk service with a custom login for each service.

My IPs at home and at work canceled their Usenet service saying it was all
kiddy-***.  (They must monitor libtard posts, I can see how they would
think that.)  I used AIOE for a while but couldn't stand the half-assed
service and subscribed with Giganews.  They have been just about perfect and
I haven't noticed any outages or flakiness.  I wonder if it's regional?

Yeah, Earthlink (giga) is doing that tonight.
They are usually pretty solid these days.
But starting last night, it wind Tango Uniform.
Full moon tonight?

If that wasn't enough, somehow Thunderbird managed to cram an update to 3.1.2.

aioe.org is working tho.
So I've got Tbird straightened out.

Hang in there.

It may be.  OTOH, they treat Giganews subscribers differently than
'corporate customers'. They refuse to deal directly with end users if
you have questions or problems.  It may me the servers used to validate
corporate accounts that's screwed up.  Of course, Earthlink isn't
admitting problems, but I've been getting the error message for almost
24 hours now.  15 minutes or longer blocks when I have no access.

Could be regional.  I, like others noticed giganews was a little flaky last night.

I went to the APN support website yesterday.  It said they had an
equipment failure at 2PM PST.

Well, FMR.  I had signed up for APN a long while back and just
upgraded to Agent 6, with 3 free months.  I got the billing notice on
Tuesday and asked about it, wanting to combine the accounts.

An APN support guy nuked the new one and added the 3 free months to
the existing account. When I tried to log in, it kept failing, so I
sent for a new password. The automated program didn't send me a reply,
so I asked him about it. He reset my password and notified me of the
clipboard problem in Windows 7, etc.

Now I find out that the actual problem was at Giga...
