HELP!!! Need machine help from somebody in So Cal.

I  need a little assistance.

I snagged a jewelry rolling mill from Ebay for a freind, but now I have
to get it picked up by Saturday.
It is in Long Beach.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1784912217&rd=1

The piece weighs about 100 lbs, however they say that the Mill can be
unbolted from the base, so it would be easier to handle.

My freind will be in the LA area in January, so I am trying to find
somebody in the area who could pick it up and sit on it for a few
months.

I would have it shipped, but I am worried since the stand is cast iron
and doesn't look like it can survive much rough handling without a very
expensive crate jobe.

The seller hasn't a clue about shipping crates.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have the time and don't have enough storage room as it is but
if it comes right down to losing the machine I'll go get it for you.

It looks like the day has been saved by Grant's brother , who lives in
LA.

All is well.
