Unimat SL-1000 parts and accessories?

I recently obtained a Unimat SL-1000 lathe.

Would like to find a good source for parts and accessories.

The sad news is:  Your best source is luck.

You can also check: this newsgroup for people who may want to sell
or are selling.
- Blue Ridge Macninery, they have whats left of the Manufactuers parts.
- Campbell Tools, they get trades in from time to time.
- I think Sherline makes 3 and 4 jaw chucks to fit the SL.
- Make your own parts on the machine itself.  See "The Shop Wisdom
of Rudy Kouhoupt", "Making the Most of the Unimat" by Russ Tingey,
Back issues of "Model Engineer's Workshop" magazine with articles by
Bob Loader.  There have also been occasional articles in Live Steam,
Model Railroader and the erstwhile Finelines (all many years ago).

The last remaining supply of new parts for the SL1000 is from a
company called Blue Ridge Machine Co. somewhere in VA. I'll have
to check and get back to you. I see them listed in this newsgroup on
occasion. Glen.

Unimat SL has been out of production for some time.  The remainder of
the parts and accessories were bought by:

Blue Ridge Machinery & Tools
Hurricane, WV
(800) 872-6500

Sherline also makes 3 & 4 jaw chucks to fit. As a dealer, I can get
these for you.

I still have a few adaptors that allow the SL chucks to be used on a
watchmakers lathe (as well as another for the Mark III).

Happy hunting,

David
