Finished mom's quilt and matching tote!

Post by Leslie & The Furbabies in MO » Thu, 13 Mar 2008 04:58:25

Finally!  Her second chemo is Thursday.  I don't think the quilt will arrive
in time- darnnit!  Be gentle on me... this is only the second quilt I've
quilted since Pat and Polly insisted I try dropping the feed dogs.  VBG  And
a big THANK YOU to Polly for all her advice and information on working with
Minkee and to Pat on her hill for her advice, helping me work with 'delicate
colors' and suggesting the marvelous loop-de-loops quilted in the flower
petals and the bud.  And another thank you to both ladies for keeping me
going with words of encouragement!

It's fabulous Leslie!  She's going to love it.  The love you put into it is
quite obvious.  Though I do find it hard to believe you needed encouragement
for machine quilting!  Your work has been quite wonderful for a long time.

Well done indeed, Leslie.  It's just beautiful.  That quilting is
gorgeous - it worked out so well.  Good for you.
The bag is lovely.  After your misgivings on the colour, that looks
great - with its matching appliqud panel.  I love that green fabric -
so gentle and easy on the eye.
I'm so happy for you that it is done successfully, after all your hard
work and disappointment along the way.

Howdy!

This is charming.
I think Estelle's dragonflies may be looking for this Garden.

Best wishes to your mom.   And her quilting daughter.

Looks wonderful to me!  Your work speaks for itself... you are no longer a
"beginner" free motion quilter!

I'm sure it will bring great comfort!

Oh, they're *wonderful*, Leslie! If I were your mom, I'd love them. I
really like the way the tote coordinates without exactly matching the
quilt -- and the quilt itself is just gorgeous! I do like delicate
colors -- and bright colors, and subdued colors, and .... ;)
