Di and I were discussing meatloaf. She mentioned she adds bbq sauce. I do
too. Then she mentioned cheese would be fun. Got us to thinking, what have
YOU added to meatloaf?

A friend of mine put a peeled hard boiled egg in. Very cool when sliced.  I
put onion and Italian breadcrumbs along with the usual garlic, S&P.
Sometimes Soy Sauce instead of Garlic.

bbq sauce
Ritz crackers instead of oatmeal
saltine crackers when no Ritz was available
corn
green beans
dry onion soup mix
spaghetti sauce (when there was no bbq)
Cheese is really good, put it on about 10 minutes before you take it out of
the oven
cream of mushroom soup
Chinese noodles on top
crushed ruffles chips on top
parmesan cheese mixed in
sauerkraut (wasn't all that tasty to me, but DH loved it)
corn flakes (unfrosted of course and when we were out of Ritz and saltine
crackers)
mushrooms
shredded carrots
peas

(if you add some of the veggies and slap some mashed taters on top you have
a shepards pie)

I also make gravy out of the runoff and we dump that on top too....

We don't ever put ketchup in ours cause I can't stand ketchup.

Hugs,

I almost always use diced onion, and this time used fresh bread crumbs,
oregano and basil, and garlic powder.
What I do with leftover meatloaf is cube it and use it in place of the
burger in chili. Thats why I was thinking that cubed cheese in the meatloaf
would be tasty.
Those of you on the east coast of Canada might be familiar with donairs. DH
makes his own and the meat part is meatloafish. But, DH does not care much
for meatloaf. Go figure!

Hmmmm regularly add BBQ, tomato and sweet chilli sauces (yes all in the one
meatloaf), other times cubes of cheese, umm garlic is popular down here in
my house.

I make Italian meatloaf.
My recipe calls for you to press the meat mixture (that has mushrooms,
Italian spices, black olives, and parmesan, among other things) into a flat
rectangle. You put shredded mozzarella in the middle, and form the loaf
around the cheese. I like to top it with pizza sauce.

I HATED meatloaf until I got this recipe

Geeeeeze!  I wouldn't pay that much to have my favorite band set up and play
in my living room!  Good grief!

Come to think of it, that *would* be the perfect concert venue, wouldn't it?
Have the band set up and play in your living room?  I can dream.  Just like
I dream of Mel Gibson, or the perfect chocolate, or winning the
lottery............
