Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

Post by Allyson Brow » Sat, 09 Oct 2004 11:09:31

To my fellow Canadians.....
wishing you a very festive and joyful Thanksgiving celebration this weekend!
I'll be offline all weekend as I travel to two different cottages and two
different families to give thanks! Been baking all week, and I think I might
be ready to go by tomorrow night.
I have lots to be thankful for this year, so I wanted to spread the warm
feelings.

Thanks Pat!!  Grab that fork and come join us.... we're alone this
year.  One daughter is on her way back from a holiday in Fla. and the
other joined her b/f at his parent's for Thanksgiving.  It's fine with
us, as I'm busy packing for a trip to Calif. on Wed.!!! Yeah!! Going
to the Pacific Int'l quilt show on the weekend.  Can't wait.  Oh...
I'm cooking a DUCK!!! with all the t***s, and of course good old
apple pie for dessert!!  ('tis the season)! :-)

Well- turkey of course, cranberry sauce, herb and sage stuffing, wild rice
cranberry stuffing, marinated tomatoes, marinated veggie salad, mashed
potatoes, gravy, maple syrup yams, apple pie and pumpkin pie. Whew! And that
was after finding out on Thursday night that I was having Thanksgiving on
Saturday! (My dil was originally going to have everyone) Thanks for the good
wishes...it is so beautiful here in south western Ontario at this time of
year- the trees are glorious in their fall colours.  Many a quilt design
here. We truly have much to be thankful for.
P.s. My American sister-in-law says our thanksgiving is just a "pretenders"
thanksgiving:) The real one comes up in November in the U.S.

Wow I think I would like to go to Joannes for supper. I am always
willing to do dishes. I am cooking a turkey, but it always tastes better
when someone else is doing the cooking.
History on Canadian thanksgiving-you can send it to your SIL.
