Did anyone go to the Hershey Show?  A friend and I spent most of the day
there Friday.  Lots of beautiful quilts in the show, and many, many
interesting vendors. I bought one of the new thimbles mentioned in
RCTQ....*** with a metal tip.  It really felt good on and didn't slip
off, so can't wait to give it a real try. Didn't buy much fabric.  The lines
for "by the yard" vendors were horrendously long, and prices for fat
quarters weren't particularly good for this area.  After the show and all
day Saturday we were on the road.  We visited 10 Quilt Shops, The Silk and
Craft Warehouse, and Wilbur's Chocolate Factory in Lititz, PA.  One shop had
a Fat Quarter Frenzy...$1.25 each.  We loaded up there!  At another shop, we
used $10 "stimilus coupons"!  Another shop had loads of neutrals for $4.99 a
yard.  Another shop was giving out one free fat quarter per customer.  So,
we had a great time and helped the economy a little!  I've ***d all the
fabric and sorted it for washing...maybe tomorrow....I'm tired!!  Driving
more than 300 miles and doing all that shopping wore me out!

Oh wow.  What a trip.  I'm with Jeanne.  Just reading about it makes me need
a nap but I'm sure it was worth every tired bone.  Specially the FQ sale.
Mmmmmm.    Polly

Oh my, Alice! I'm exhausted just reading about this! You did it all in
*one* day?!? Wow! You're an inspiration. <G>

Actually, it was over two days, and we also went to our Church chicken bbq,
worked a booth for two hours and stayed to watch the fireworks!  I really
slept well last night!  All the neutrals that we bought have been washed and
folded.  Hopefully, today I can get the darker fabrics done too.

DH and I were there on Thursday.  I did a bit of shopping, but I have put
myself on a fabric diet, so I only picked up things for on-going or planned
projects.  After leaving the show, we headed to Lancaster area, checking out
a couple of museums etc. for future visits. (Lancaster and area is near our
route between Kingston and Florida each spring and fall).
Didn't buy any chocolate!
We drove to Corning NY the next morning and spent the afternoon at the
Museum of Glass.  What wonderful exhibits!  By the time we were finished,
just had time to find a place for dinner, then off to the motel.
On Saturday, we drove through the finger lakes area and stopped at Patchwork
Plus in Marcellus.  A lovely shop with tons of fabric.  Picked up a couple
of pieces of fabric there as well.
Did manage a stop at Joann's and Hobby Lobby on route.
Now I have to get back to quilting!

We like the Wilbur's chocolate the best....dark, of course.  And, to save
money, we buy the "buds" (similar to a Hershey kiss) by the 5 pound
box.....then divide it up at home and place into freezer bags.  No chance of
running out around here! Their dark chocolate covered coffee beans are
delicious too!
