I Finished a Challenge - but not the one you think !

Hi All,
Yes,  I do have the top of my Senseabilities challenge finished (  but not
turned in yet -  way too late  ).  I didn't get it quilted yet,  so I couldn't
get the photo to Deb yet.
I was busy finishing a challenge for my local art quilt group.  I had to
have the top ready for this past Wednesday night  (  meeting was at my house).
The title of the challenge was  "In the Style Of".  We had to pick a famous
artist and do a quilt in the style of that person  (  NOT to copy one of their
quilts excatly).   We had to keep it secret from the others in the group and
they had to try to guess what artist's style we were using.
I did a mini quilt in the style of  Andy Warhol.   I scanned a graduation
photo   (  the one with a black tux on )   of my son into the computer  (  into
Photo Shop)  &  I clicked on "multiple copies".  I could fit nine photos on one
page.  Then I ironed freezer paper onto white fabric,  trimmed it to size  &
scanned the multiple photos onto the white fabric.   I cut them apart to get
rid of the white margins and sewed them back together.  I added a 1/4" magenta
border, a 1/2" bright blue print border, and then a 1 1/2'  different magenta
border.    Everyone loved it and afterwards I can hang it in his old bedroom or
give it to him.
We're all going to hang them in a group in our quilt show in October.
There were eight of us  & we all picked different artist.

So.,  this is why I'm a little behind on turning in my Sensibilities
photo.  I actually forgot to take a picture of it to scan.

Did you print the photo with the same colors in
each "printing", or did you make some a different tone (more sepia, or in
red/white or blue/white instead of black and white)?

Dragonfly,
I just did mine in black and white since I was putting magenta and royal
blue on for the border.      I tried using the different colors ,  but didn't
like the effect with the colored border.

I was wondering about that!  Glad you did it the way *you* liked it best
rather than completely copying his style.   :-)

Have any pictures?
