Raw Edge Applique??

Raw Edge Applique??

Can someone tell me about this??
I was sent instructions through email about this using fusible web, straight
stitching the applique on then letting the edges fray.  What I'm wondering
is:  wouldn't the fusible web prevent the edges from fraying??  Do you cut
the web smaller to accomodate for this, or will it fray with time anwyay??
Thank you!

If I wanted frayed edges on appliqu, I would not use a fusible web, because
as you say this does prevent edges from fraying, far better in my opinion,
to use a tear away stabiliser whilst sewing on the appliqu.
