I regret to announce that due to many minor domestic
tragedies - my old computer died, my address won't work on
the new computer, and the modern software I'm using now is
making me crazy. I can't figure out how to do anything.

All hug messages etc are lost.
All my airedale male is lost. I can't even participate in
rescue efforts for Katrina right now.

Anybody who needs to to communicate with me should write me

I've never been a real active poster but read a lot. And
there are a few folks here who may wonder what happened to me.

I ahve had an adventurous several months.

Hugged my airedale Gracie one Wedensday nite, and everything
was normal. Hugged her 24 hours later and she had milk
coming in. She does have silent heat cycles and false
pregnancies but EEEEEEEK we had recently neutered a rescued
male. I quickly phoned the vet and asked how many days it
had been since we neutered Jack (62) and how many days did
it take to make puppies (63). Sure enough, she went into
labor the next day. She labored 5 days from Friday to
Wednesday before the would do a cesaerian. We had eight
pups, but 3 died from the stress of the long labor.
Daddy was a 95 lb fellow and the pups promise to be too.

SO the house remodel was on hold because maybe some folks
can remodel with a litter of puppies in the house but I cant.

Then about the time I could send them to forever homes
I developed pneumonia. Started Memorial Day weekend and
didn't get back to work until $th of July week. I spent
over 30 days laying in bed and wouldn't you know that month
the cable wasn't working because of upgrades in progress.
I think I read 2000 pages of fiction.

New reoommate moved in and didn't want the blue bedroom
so I had to move all the stuff from the yellow bedroom so
she could move in there. Of course now she wants the blue
bedroom after all because she can't afford the larger yellow
bedroom but where the heck do I put all the stuff from
the blue bedroom so I can move her back in. Won't go in the
living room because thats where we are walking around all
the displaced stuff from the remodel in progress.

And everything needs to be puppy proof because of couse we
kept a couple. Yes I know. BUt we had our heart set on the
little guy with the green collar. And then the little female
kept hitting on ulecers in DH's legs before he knew they
were there. She is barely 4 months old and has told us 3
times already that he has an ulcer so we had to keep her.
We did have a previous dog that would do that and I really
think she saved Dougs life a couple times. This puppy is
closely related to that Doug. But we were so attached
to the boy puppy already we just deciced to keep two.

Ever tried to potty train two puppies at the same time?
Who do you lecture when you find evidence of an indiscretion.

We built a carport on the house one weekend and Tuesday a
windstorm blew up and moved it from our yard into the
ea***t and hung it from the power lines. We got that
down this week. Now its monsoon season and wouldn't you know
the ba***t has flooded. Minor thing compared to most
floods in the news, but it is not pleasant to get out of bed
and land ones feet in a cold puddle. I vaccum the cement
floor with the steam cleaner about once an hour (when I'm
home).

I realllllllllly need to take some time off from work and
fix all this but I just applied for a transfer to another
store. Its a promotion. And that will happen sometime in the
next two weeks. No official word yet but I do have the job
"unofficially". And it will require overtime rather than
vacation time. I saw the backed up freight today for my
future section and it looks like about 30 days backlog.
Another EEEEEEK!

And when I moved all the stuff from the blue to the yellow
bedroom, somehow my quilting project in a huge purple bag
disappeared. Its not lost, but it seems to have developed
the quality of invisibility. Next Saturday will be the
FOURTH montly meeting since I last saw it. I'm running out
of substitute mini projects to take with me.

So high to all you quilters out there who may remember me.

I have to say that I don't know that I remember you - I have only been
around off and on and for not that long...your post however was
absolutly hysterical and I thank you for that :)  Perhaps you didn't
mean it to be funny, and I certainly wasn't laughing at your bad
luck...just at your ability to make light of it all.

It was the first thing I read this early morning (its not 6am here yet)
and it has put me in a better mood :)

Thank you

What a lovely surprise to read your post in the other thread - and now
to have you sort of re-introduce yourself.  I most certainly do remember
you - I have an e-mail from you which I have kept, to remind me of some
of the sensible things you said!
When I was born, my grandparents had an Airedale.  She loved me and
guarded me.  People didn't realise she was a guard dog, as she would let
anyone into the garden - where I might be in my pram - *but - she would
never let anyone OUT!!!  Baby as I was, I sort of remember her.
Enjoy your puppies (when you're not being frustrated >g<)
.

Gosh, Carol! What a run of bad luck you've had. But it sounds as though
one of those "incidents" has worked out for the best, since you now have
another dog who can help with Doug's health. :) Welcome back, and good
luck with getting everything sorted out.
