Advice please - concerning machine quilting

Hi,
if you have the time, please take a look at my homepage
http://quilt-hb.gmxhome.de/
go to WIPS,  there you'll find a small picture of my current WIP.
Click on it and scroll down. There you'll find a photo of an
attempt at meandering/stippling. What do you think ?
I think I should make smaller curves....
The stars are stitched-in-the-ditch with invisible thread and
now I try to fill out the gaps in between.
Oh, and my homepage is still under construction :-(
BTW this quilt is the result of Mardi's DIY-BOM ( remember last year).
(Mardi if you read this, thanks again...)
TIA

Heidi, I'm not one to offer advice on machine quilting, but I like the
quilt!

Hullo Heidi
The scale of stippling should match the scale of the quilt.  I think
yours does that just fine.  The effect you get, with really small
stippling, is that you are making a flat background for some elements to
stand out from it.
I don't imagine you want to do this with yours?  You just want to make
an all over design?  Am I right?  If so, your look small enough to me -
I am not an expert, nor is it my quilt!
Another point to remember is that it is probably easier to control (and
see!) when you are doing the curves slightly larger.
I must say I congratulate you on getting curves with no 'spikes',
though!
Very pretty quilt.

What a beauty! The stippling looks fine to me -except you might want to
loosen the top tension just a bit.

Nice stippling Heidi!  As to having smaller curves and a tighter
stipple - well that depends on what you want to achieve.  If all you
want is to fill in the spaces, then what you have now is lovely.  If
however, you are looking to flatten down the areas to make the stars
pop up, then you would need to do smaller stippling.  You're doing a
great job.  Lovely quilt too!

I think you're doing a very nice job, Heidi! The curves are very smooth
and even. :) The only suggestion I'd make is to double check your
tension; it looks like there may be a little problem with the bobbin
thread coming to the top of  the quilt, though that may be an illusion
caused by the camera flash. :)

Thanks,
I'll check the tension...
And still can't decide what to do. First I intended to
make the stars come out, but now I'm not quite sure anymore.
I'll sleep over it...
I'm going to take a Mariner's Compass Class this weekend, so
I'll have to lay this quilt aside in any case

Thanks to all. I'll check the tension :-)
and then will have to decide what I want to achieve with
the stippling. As posted before, first I intended to let the stars
pop out, but now I'm not sure anymore...
Gonna sleep over it
