OT Nascar Withdrawal Syndrome

Post by Polly Esthe » Sat, 09 Feb 2008 22:29:36

I know there aren't heaps of Nascar fans here but did want to be sure that
all my racing buddies know that the first race is tomorrow evening.  7 pm
CST on Fox.
And other happy news - yesterday we were in a Pfaff store and I got to
see the latest Pfaff.  Wow.  It could do everything but run a GPS system.
That is a fine SM.  I would probably have to go to Flight School over at the
airbase to learn how to fly one but it was beautiful to see.
And more.  Yesterday, a sweet friend of mine found a yearned-for fabric
for me. I dearly love to slip just a little bit of Teresa Kogut's 'A slice
of Summer Ants' in my quilts.  Buying fabric on eBay is new to me but
something I need to learn.
I wish all of you a Happy Day.  Polly

That's neat, sort of like your signature fabric, or kinda like David
Winters, the artist
that sometimes hid a tiny mouse somewhere in his little cottage
figurines, it was
fun to look for it. I like to use a piece of Laurel Burch cat fabric
whenever I can, well,
sometimes I can't because it would stick out like a sore thumb, such
bright colors!
I've found all kinds of different Laurel Burch kitties on e-bay,
sometimes just a fat
quarter at a time. It's a great place to find a certain fabric. I've
been lucky so far
and been pleased. The only problem sometimes with e-bay is that
sometimes
shipping charges are excessive, but you don't see that so much with
the fabrics
as with other things. I'm rambling so I"ll shut up now.....enjoy the
races!

Now that could be a challenge.  I'm not sure you could hide a bit of Laurel
Birch kitties sometimes.  I could but most of my quilts are bright colors.
Thanks Sherry.  While I'm learning to buy fabric at ebay, I'll be alert
to shipping charges.  Allowing someone a fair profit is fine but I don't
want to be 'taken to the cleaners'.  Polly

You would love this, Donna.  We have clear blue skies and a temp of 71.
The only thing we don't have is worms.  The robins headed north have picked
the pastures clean.  Polly

Polly, there are more of us here than you think!!

My DH has been suffereing from NASCAR withdrawl, it's really the only
sport he is into in a big way.  Of course he and DD have their own
'race' team, but that doesn't start up for another two months.  Anyway
he has the FOX telecast set up to tape, as we have a out-of-town
'dinner theater' to attend... we will watch it on Sunday and zip
through the commercials!

Oh Mercy Day, this reminds me. I've got to get going on spring
cleaning of the quilt room.  Need to get the wall mount and new HDTV
installed so I can watch spring training that starts around March
14th.

Baseball, and I don't care if its college ball , I want my games.  I
can turn out all kinds of tops during the season.  The only time I
don't quilt or answer the phone and act like a hermit is during the
playoffs and World Series.
Thank you Polly for reminding me Spring is around the corner.

I haven't seen any robins here yet only cardinals.
Would you send some my way.

The only thing that tells me it's warming up outside is the old geezer
across the street sitting on his porch sunning himself.

I am a huge Nascar fan!!!! We love Dale, Jr. here, even though Jeff Gordon
is a hometown (birth) boy. My big conflict is that on Sunday, the day at
Daytona, I will be driving off to my week long quilting retreat with my
wonderful friends! I will miss the whole thing! I am sad about that.......

On the bright side, now that I live eleven blocks from the Brickyard, I've
got my first Allstate 400 tix this year..... :)
