Thanks to all of you who volunteered to help with prizes for my 4th and 5th
grade students.  In case you missed the post, this is a fitness walking
group.  We walk twice a week after school and are charting our journey
across the continental US.  Being a librarian, I cannot resist a chance to
encourage research skills so as we reach each state capital, there is a
research question for the club members.  Correct answers are entered into a
drawing and the winner receives a small prize.  The co-sponsor and I got the
bright idea that a souvenir from each state would make a great prize.  My
faculty members have been great but we do not have a contact in every state.
I posted this request last week with great results, also.  One of my
responders on the ng suggested that I post the list of states for which I
still need a cheap trinket.  I am hoping for an inexpensive item that a 10
or 11 year old boy or girl would think is cool.  Here are my "missing"
states:  Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusettes, Montana,
Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina,
South Dakota, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming.
We have absolutely no funding for this project from my school district (they
help by providing the space and a late bus for my bus students).  The
teachers who help with supervision (by walking with us) do so with no
stipend.  Because of this, I cannot reimburse you for your donations but
will be eternally grateful!
Thanks to all of you who can help.

Judy:
I have a brand new tee shirt from North Dakota. It has
photos of major cities: London, Paris, Rome, Fargo! That
type of shirt. A friend gave it to me, but I have no use for
it. Do you want it for the program? If you reply right away,
I will pack and deliver to Diana. If you want it please let
me know asap. I'd just as soon not mail it. NOTE: it is
*** size, large. I am not sure if that is too much for
your kiddos.
BTW: I have a few ***ia souvenirs already packed!
PAT in ***ia, leaving for TX early Wed.

We are two miles from Montgomery, Alabama.  Next stop---Florida and then up
the east coast.  It is rainy today in Texas but my co-sponsor says that we
will be walking indoors today.  That is always interesting----and noisy!
Thanks for asking
