I have recently become obssessed with lampworking.  I come on here at the
recommendation of my teacher.

Kandice, I love your beads.  When I went to class I took tons of pictures
(from ebay) so I could ask my teacher about how to learn the skills that
apealed to me...my teacher just laughed as most of them were your designs.
I still can't get those raised flowers figured out :S!  I guess I need
patience...maybe in month #3 :D!!  I was sad when you left as I loved having
the link to all your new auctions.

Starlia, I love your3D flowers...not sure how to describe them, but they are
great.  You have just recently had then on ebay.

I hope I can learn as much from you (RBC) as everyone else has!

Welcome, Cindy! It's always nice to see another flameworker here!

Better a flameworker than one who posts flames!  I'm sure you'll fit in just
fine.  These people really love each other!

Hi Cindy and welcome to the group.  I have to laugh with your teacher.  Even
though many of us drool over Kandice's beads they are so much her that there
is really no duplication.  I don't know how to describe it to you yet but
you'll get there and you'll have your own style.

Thank you about the flowers.  I have a love/hate relationship with
sculptural work.  I love it when things go well and fast and I hate it when
they break or act ***.  I do love working with glass though.

I can't wait to see what you are making.  Do you have any photos?

Hi Cindy! Welcome... I can't wait to see your work! (no claiming it
"isn't good enough"... there's no such thing!)

I don't have many pictures yet.  I am hoping to start putting my lampwork on
my web page soon (but I rely solely on my boyfriend, he is a computer
programmer...it is kinda like living with a house painter, your house is the
last one to be painted:D!).

On my web page (front page), there are some pictures of finished jewelry and
hearts www.uniquecreationsbycindy.ca .  The last few weeks I have been
mainly doing dots...I am trying to master some stinger control.  I am dying
to make nice encased and raised flowers, but no luck yet.  I think I have
almost got encasing down pat (just not the flower part) :P!!  That is
begining level encasing :D!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Very nice page.  I love the beads.

Stringer control only comes with practice.  It's just a way of life and I
had to learn to get over it.  It never has helped that my right hand shakes
so much I may not always get stringer on the way I like.  Just work on the
control and you'll get there.  Oh, and if you find a cure for patience
please send it my way.  I have none, not even in my little toe.

Thanks so much Cindy!!!  This was wonderful to read.  :)  My secret to great
flowers is using a curved tungsten pick to form the petals.  It's my
not-so-secret weapon.  :) Keep practicing - it will come to you.  :)
 Welcome to the group.
I've left and come back and left and come back - it's a whole big messy
story that isn't necessary to get into.  :)
