I am trying to figure out how long to make bracelets... for some reason I
got 8 inches into my head and have been doing that, but everyone says they
are too long.

I am doing them for the show, so I dont know what people's wrist sizes will
be.... although, just out of intereterest, how do you take wrist sizes
(tight against the wrist?  where exactly do you measure?), and what do you
do once you have them? (I thought someone in a previous post said something
about the size of the bead times some amount??)

thanks!

The "standard"size is 7 1/2 inches.  I make most of my strechy bracelets 7
inches, seems to work for most people.

The best thing would be to have an adjustable clasp, like a toggle or clasp
that hooks into a chain and there are several links to choose from.  Peoples
wrist size varies a great deal.

For instance, my wrist is 6.5".  My best friend's is over 8"....

My solution to this is to make my bracelets short end them with a
little length of chain so that they will fit a larger wrist as well. I
seem to remember 7 inches as an average length...

Personally, I like the adjustable braclet idea. :-) Use 1/4" lengths of
chain with jump rings. (hope that makes sense?) Works for making
adjustable chokers too, except on chokers, I go with 1/2" chains and
jump rings.

Average wrist size is 7 to 8 inches and even a measly 1/4 inch seems to
make a difference.
When I am doing custom bracelets, I measure the wrist and add only 1/4
inch to make it comfortable.

I do sell rosary bracelets on ebay and have had good luck just making
them 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 inches. I also offer to adjust bracelet sizes if
there is a problem. :-)

you need to add more if it is a "thick" bracelet - what was that rule?  add 3
times the thickness?
