Wow, Shirley!  I'd love to be able to do that weave!

Ok - I just put up a much better picture of her bracelet on the Yahoo
group.  For some reason, my digital camera only likes to take pictures
at night, under my Ott lite.  If you looked before, look again.  This
pic does her bracelet much better justice.  :)

I cannot join because I do not have another email address and I do not
want to use yahoo as another address. I have enough on managing the one
I have got with all the spam coming through.

Shirley,
You don't have to have a Yahoo! e-mail addy to join the group, you just need
to create a Yahoo! ID and not sign  up for e-mail. You can also just read
the messages on the web, not get them dumped into your mailbox. :-)

Basically it is just brick stitch worked round a central crystal.
Started off like this with two threads each side around crystal ((O)) as
base thread. first row seed beads, second crystals, third seed beads
with an extra bead in between making a picot. The small ones are just
the centre crystal and the picot row. They are all joined together by
working the thread down the outside of the seed beads incorporating the
clasps at each end.

I used a 6mm antique crystal for the centre and 4mm Austrian crystals
for the outer ones plus Japanese seed beads.

I have plenty of historic places around me.  Besides the Bolsover Castle
and The Crooked Spire. Within an hours drive we can visit Nottingham
Castle of Sherwood forest fame. Robin Hood and all that. Also Chatsworth
House the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Hardwick Hall with
its embroideries  from the Mary Queen of Scots era is only 10 minutes
away. The there is Haddon Hall. they are just a few,
Of course my own house is over 100 years old.
