Need help -- Broken bead

Need help -- Broken bead

Post by Susanne Wille » Sun, 10 May 1998 04:00:00

I have been working on an peyote stitch amulet purse for awhile now.
While weaving in a new thread for the fringe I broke a needle. In
working the end of the needle out I broke a bead. (I was having a
really bad beading day, if only I had quit earlier....)

So now I have a peyote stitched bag with a missing bead in front. (I
was using delicas, so I think the hole is really obvious) Does anyone
have any fixes for this problem?  I tried to weave a new bead in, but
I am having trouble getting it to insert into the hole because of the
thread that is already there.

I hope there is a solution, I hate to think that I have put all this
work into this piece only to have it ruined now.

Thanks,

Susanne

Thanks,
make sure that you weave the bead from both the top and the bottom or else it
wants to pop out. On a bag the threads wont show, theyll be inside the bag. On
flat peyote they show on one side.
Allthough I have repaired pieces by this method by going back and reweaving a 3
or 4  rows then snipping away the offending threads.

Hi Susanne!  Don't lose heart.  What size needle are you using?  What size
thread?  Try using a size 15 needle and 00 thread, you might be able to work

luck!
