Hi James

If you can't scrounge the dome windows from your spares box, and you can
find a suitable master mold, let me know, and I'll vac-form some domes for
you.

If you're talking about the AM kit, the observer windows are in the box.
If you're talking 1:72, Hasegawa makes a Tarpon.

Lee,

If you're into making canopies, can you make (or get) one for a
Canadian post-war anti-submarine version of the Avenger?  You may know
that this one resembles a Harvard or T-6 Texan greenhouse were the
turret has been removed.  I wanted to do one of these in 1:72, but may
find the parts in 1:48 now that the AM kit is out.  A relative flew in
these and I have thought about making one as a gift.

Just wondering.

Bob,

Mike Belcher (Belcher Bits) has announced 1/48 Canuck Avenger parts and
decals, to include the weird canopy I'm sure...

Cool!  Would make a nice companion to the Canadian Sea Fury in my display case
and the Seafire 15 in the closet!

Belcher Bits will be releasing a resin and vacuform conversion for the RCN
Avenger AS 3. These were only based on TBM-3s, so wait a bit for the AM
version. There were also several interior differences; the Observer's
Mate's seat behind the rollover pylon, different radio gear and the
Observer's seat which rotated in the (removed) turret ring. All these
parts will be in the conversion set as well as a new vacuform canopy. The
decal sheet will provide three sets of markings for RCN Avengers: Sea blue
TBM-3, and early and late schemes for the AS 3. Price is not yet set, and
availability should be early January.
I am also working on a TBM-3W conversion (airborne early warning job)
which will have resin parts only (no mods to the canopy is required except
for cutting it back). I am considering the decals for this right now and
at the moment, am looking at RCN, USN and JMSDF schemes. Price and
availability are not yet decided.
E-mail me your mailing address and I will send out a product listing of
currently available stuff.

Mike,

It would be great if us 1/72 guys could get a similar set for the Hasegawa
Turkey.  The RCN Avengers with the external fittings for the MAD gear make
them the most 'interesting' TBM variant except for maybe the Guppy AEW birds.

Here's hoping....
