Shameless plug for IPMS (UK) Nationals

Just in case anyone thought this was exclusivly an American group... The
home of the IPMS is holding Scale Model World this weekend  - 9th and 10th
November at Telford international conference centre in Telford Shropshire in
the UK.
There - big plug over. As nobody else has done it I thought I'd claim the
brownie points :-)
As for me I'm going to spend vast amounts of take home on new kits and bits,
drink some beer with good buddies and rot in a luxury hotel for three days.
Hard life eh..?
I shall be on the Aircraft Carrier SIG stand.
BTW  Matt Bacon, I've not forgotten I owe you a kit in exchange for that set
of Russian tank crew you sent me. Where are you based during the show..?

I'll try come visit your stand at some point in weekend. I'll be at the IPMS Edinburgh stand. I've got my pennies saved and my list of wants ready, but no doubt I'll find lots of other goodies to buy.

Hello all .... I'd love to be there, but it's a bit too long
a journey with my very busy life at the moment :~))

Come over to the Soviet Aircraft SIG and say hello.

I shall be at Telford on the IPMS Hornchurch table, in between browsing the
trade stands and visiting my fellow What-Iffers on the What-If? SIG table
(Group meet at 12noon both days!).
All I've got to do is sort out my Stealth collection and their base and
repair my Stingbat, all in 2 evenings and one day! And I still have nowhere
cheap to stay on Saturday night.... maybe the car will have to do?

Most of my models are steath models I'm afraid... They can project a false
image on radar and plain sight that closely resembled an unassembled kit
still in the box...

Hey Nick - who needs a 'What-if' SIG - when you've got our Soviet a/c SIG ??

Tupolev TB-3 - with FIVE fighters attached !
A-90 Ekranoplan - wing-in-ground effect with a huge turboprop on the fin!
An-71 Madcap AWACS - with a rotodome on the fin!
VVA-14 - VTOL ASW type that was designed to land on water, ice, ground(not made
yet)!
Avro Lancaster in Soviet markings
Su-47 forward-swept-wing demonstrator

Loads of other weird and wonderful stuff - and all REAL !

Seeya there

A Soviet Lancaster?! Whats the story behind that one?
Saw the TB-3 at a show lately (Brampton? Southern Expo?) and was quite
surprised by it. Looked good though.

I do/did have (not sure, haven't seen it lately) a 1/72 Mig 37 Ferret, the
Italeri what-if but I don't like the look of it. Too clunky and angular....

Ex 9 or 617 Sqn Lanc - used to attack Tirpitz from the Murmansk region. Some of
them crash-landed and got left behind, so the Soviets made 2 of them airworthy
- and used them as long-range recce.

The full story - and my model - are on the VVS website at :-

Ah, Ken, I can read the story fine but the pics don't seem to want to show
themselves..... :o(
Is it just me?
No worries as I'll probably see it this weekend.
