I concur, I already finished mine!  8^)
If memory serves correctly I believe Bill Koster had a lot to do with this one.
Gee,
does that mean I can hope for a Fw 200?

Please excuse my lack of airplane know how here, but could you tell me
if this one the  E 5  is one of the ones with the longer extended tail.
Which I believe was a kind of air brake.?  Is that correct.

And what extras does it come with and can you make more than one version
from the same kit.  Also about how expensive.?

thank you very much

For me, because I decided not to buy one, I'm waiting for the night
fighter which I've been told looks to be forthcoming by an examination
of the kit breakdown. It looked pretty good in the box though, hard to
resist.

Bill Koster told me yesterday that he's VERY close to releasing
nightfighter and Do 217 K conversion sets for Revell/Monogram's new
1/48-scale Do 217 E-5.  Unfortunately, I forgot to ask whether these two
conversions will be sold together or separately.

The fact that Bill designed the R/M '217 but has decided to go ahead
with his own conversion sets suggests to me that R/M may not be
releasing a nightfighter or K anytime soon.

FWIW  The extended tail was supposed to allow the Do-217 to be a dive
bomber-it didn't work and was done away with by the -5 model. I believe only
the Do-217E-1 and -2 had the extended tail/airbrake.

I'm still waiting for the Mi-24 Hind variants that would use those extra
parts in the Monogram kit.

Pete Chalmers asked:

 > Resin or Vac for the main parts ???

Interesting question.  Bill mentioned that he had considered resin
airframe parts (for the first time, as far as I know) but has pretty
much decided to go with vacform.  In any case, both conversion sets will
contain a lot of resin, of course.

That would be Bill Koster.  I'm sure Bill will be honored by your vote,
though he may have other plans for the next four years.  ;-)

PS: Koster Aero Enterprises' 1/48 Martin Maryland kit will be released
as soon as Bill finishes its instruction sheet and the resin and metal
parts arrive in Highland Park.  The test shots look great (of course).
