Hi there!

I cannot describe to you how awesome the PIECEWORK Pincushion exhibit was at
the Denver CATS last week.  I had been waiting for the Denver show to roll
around, to see these wonderful creative pincushions that had been submitted by
stitchers everywhere and judged by the editors of PIECEWORK Magazine.
Well....I now understand how the judges had such a hard time determining the
contest winners.  Every single one was just so special.  Not only did I get to
see them, I got to touch them wearing white gloves, as I helped Jo Lee Tarbell
set the display up.  There were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as
about 8 (if I remember correctly) honorable mentions.  But all, over 40 entries
were displayed. It was a real treat to get to meet one of the entries, from
there in CO.  Her creative work of needleart was a pincushion made to look like
a snowglobe.  It was done in Punchneedle needleart.  It was round like a globe
and was done in a fiber that changed colors when it was exposed to certain
light.  It sat on a stand that she had made, just for it, and played a tune,
when a button was pushed.  I hope if you got to attend the Denver CATS, that
you didn't miss this spectacular display, over in the showcase area.  This
exhibit will also be at the remaining CATS shows, this year.  So...don't
forget, I know you will not want to miss seeing these.  Atlanta, GA will be
coming up next, that will be June 21-25.  Then it's Minneapolis, MN August
16-20.  Riverside, CA  September 6-10 and Valley Forge, PA September 20-24.  I
hope to get to see you there!!!   Jan  :-)
