I'm looking for unusual trim

I'm want to make fabric drwr pulls for our kitchen cabinets. The idea came from
this past Thanksgiving when we served our first dinner in our newly renovated
kitchen (a campstove, microwave & a grill was our kitchen for 6mos.).  We had
these beautiful handmade curly maple kitchen cabinets but no way to easily open
them up because we hadn't picked out any knobs as yet.  My husband, who is a
general fix-it & inventor, did a quick solution by using clear plasic packing
tape (2" width) doubled on itself, taped to the inside of the cabinets &
*** over the top.  We've become attached to this system and came up with
the idea of trying trim. My plan is to use a small***eye or brad on the
inside of the cabinet to hook the fabric trim on.  It will go over the top,
hang down & end in a point.  I've toyed with the idea of making small tassels
for the end of the point.  Lots of ideas re: color schemes, mix and match,
seasonal, etc.   My problem now lies in finding something approriate for this
solution.  Heritage Trims used to be near us (1hr), but I've had no luck
locating them & don't know if they've gone out of business.  When I was there
last they had some very unusual, arty trim & now I feel at a loss as to where
to look next.  I want something different than what one normally finds in
fabric stores.  Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thanks. cheryl

Try http://www.calontirtrim.com/  for lots of trim.  The
owner is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism so
the trim is stuff that would go with a medieval or
renaissance outfit.  His trim is gorgeous, the price is
right and I've never had any complaints about this concern.
I've only bought about 40 yards of trim from this person but
that's only due to a monetary limit!  IOW I'm just a very
satisfied customer.
