Thank you for all of your replies!!

I love cross stitch.  I am having so much fun with all of the missed posts
over the last few days, and I am having so much fun looking up links to the
thousands of cross stitch sites.

This newsgroup is better than a mocha chip blizzard!!  I am so e***d.  Oh
this is sad, this newsgroup is moving me out of my cross stitch chair to the
computer.  Decisions, decisions.  Cross stitch or enjoy fellowship with
other cross stitchers.  Maybe I could just move my stitching lamp to the
computer desk and have it all!!

Thank you, thank you everyone.

Just don't forget to leave the magnets behind.  I have a magnetic clip to hold
needles and magnetic bars to hold my pattern open.  Magnets just hate
computers, so be careful.

How funny, Barb....

First off, you could always get up an extra hour early, make yourself a cup
decent coffee... and drag yourself to the computer and have coffee with us
before starting your day. <G>  My internet connection is here at the shop,
so I tend to do this.. I come into town early in the day (6:30-7:00) to
catch up on news and then I hang out on here for about 30-45 minutes before
heading off to the local diner to have breakfast with a few friends... then
by 10 a.m. I usually have my head screwed on straight enough to be able to
deal with what I have to do for my business <G>.

Then... (we live out in the boonies) I have to stay at my shop some nights
late because my daughter is involved in different activities/jobs and it's
not worth it to drive all the way home and back into town again (time and
gas).   So.. I have my computer set to download this NG and my email every
10 minutes.  If my 'puter makes a "dinging" sound.. I know I got something
new to read.  I can hang out, work on some project here, and take little
mini-breaks to read new stuff.  Just like having company <G>.

So.. if I were you... I'd find a way to budget it all in <G>.

have a super day.

I've thought of that too, but since I have a laptop,
I can bring it the mountain to me and get some stitches
in while waiting for pics to load, etc.

I sit on the couch and stitch.  At some point I have to get up either to fill
my tummy or empty my bladder.  As long as I'm up, I check e-mail and pop in
here for a few minutes.  It's a nice break from stitching ... change of
position, change of focal length, etc.

The computer is close enough to the kitchen that I can smell the progress of
dinner, so I pop something into the oven and sit down to read RCTN while it
cooks.  It's easier to get up and stir (or whatever) than if I have to walk the
length of the house from the living room and then meticulously wash my hands
before picking up my stitching again.
