Anyone else having trouble?

Post by Michael & Lisa McElmurr » Wed, 18 Aug 1999 04:00:00

For some reason, I keep getting the report that there are no new NG
messages!  Since this has been happening the past 2 1/2 days, I'm curious
whether it's a problem with the NG or my ISP..... assuming I'll be able to
see a response, has this been happening to anyone else?

I have been having problems for about 3 weeks--only about 40 message a day.  I
have emailed my ISP, but they have not responded.  I have never had this problem
for more than a couple of days before.  I'd be interested to know how to solve
this problem, if I'm able to see this or any other message.

I think the problem is usually with your ISP or whomever they receive the
news messages from.  Keep after them to fix it!  In the meantime, you could
read Deja.com!

I'm both posting and e-mailing, hoping to improve your odds of seeing
this.

Traffic's been normal for the last few days, so it's either your
newsreader or your ISP's news feed. Call your ISP's tech support and
ask them. They'll help. That's what they get paid for. :-)

It's been a lot more than 40/day for me! Better call your ISP [a voice
call is much less likely to get lost or ignored]. My solution to a
similar problem was to subscribe to Newsguy [$25/year, great feed,
reliable, etc.]. I'm not affiliated with Newsguy in any way except as
a happy customer, yadda yadda. :-)
