I just found this group. I had asked in the plastic canvas group if there was
a group that also dealt with x-stitch. I normally do plastic canvas. Actually
I have only done PC.
I was on a small vacation in Minneapolis last week and was hitting thrift
stores. I was looking for PC pattern books. I did spy a cute x-stitch pattern
for bears. I fell in love with it and figured at some time I would learn how
to do it and make i for myself. My fiance was there too and he took it out of
my hands and said he would stitch it for me.
He was so enthused we went out the next day and bought all the stuff to do it
with. Niether of us had the floss or anything. I guess we will be ready for
the next project. Late we found the same pattern as a kit. Oh well, We
wanted it in 11 count and the kit was in 14 count. I figure if he is going to
do it might as well mke it large enough for people to see and I also want to be
able to see it from any place in the room I display it in.
I am now motivated to do a project for him in return. He had learned x-stitch
from his Mom whil he was living at home. He used to drive truck and it made a
great craft to take along. Usually he did woodland or more masculine things
but he never got around to finishing them. After discussing it with him we
figured it was because the colors were more natural as apposed to the bears he
is doing. He is just flying through it. He loves the colors and it picks up
his spirits when he works on it.
Ok... If you havn't figured it out by now I am so e***d about the whole
thing. This is so special for me. I hope I havn't made everybody sick now
with the gushies.
I was wondering if I can ask if anybody has the pattern for a project I saw
many years ago. It was shown in all sorts of crafting mags. You could send
for the free project sheet forit and I put it off and am just now remembering
it. It was a winter scene with carolers I believe. It had marvelous colors in
it. I can only vaguely picture it in my mind anymore. If anybody could help
me out I would appreciate it.
