JCS Ornament Issue 2001 question

JCS Ornament Issue 2001 question

Post by s.e. » Fri, 11 Jan 2002 23:01:36

There is a pattern in the JCS Ornament Issue for 2001 that calls for
Glorianna Hand-Painted floss. I've never heard of this and wouldn't have any
clue where to find it.   Has anyone else used this ?  Where can I purchase
it if needed ?  Or alternatively, can anyone tell me of a conversion to some
other floss type ?

Thanks in advance !

Thanks Meredith !

I might add the ornament to my "ornament a month" goal for this year, so
that gives me a bit of time to order some.

uh oh... I'm becoming ***ed to s pecialty threads.  Guess I need to be
looking for a rich husband :)

Try Needle in a Haystack: http://www.needlestack.com/thread.html
They have also made a thread kit for the Gloriana floss needed for the
ornament.

Shannon:

Just to let you know, I've mail ordered from Needle n Haystack and they
are a wonder bunch of ladies.  I have been 100% satisified with the
service I've received.  I get my Cascade thread from them since no one
carries it around me.  So please contact them if you can't find it
locally.

If you're ever in the area, their shop is great to visit also, they have
a corner with a t.v. and movies for smaller children, and they didn't
get mad when my niece took a bit of their expensive chocolate and then
put it back on the tray!  My sister and went there during a visit to my
brother's several years ago, and I'd go back there before I'd hit the
shop actually in the SF area.

Thanks Sandra and Kathy for the news about Needle n Haystack.  I actually
wound up at their site yesterday and was so impressed by things on there
that I wrote the address down in my Palm pilot. I keep addresses like that
there so that if a miracle occurs and I wind up in that state, I'll know
where to visit !  Saves time hunting through phone books :)

I think the idea of packaging it for the ornament specifically is great.
Obviously it's not a widely used thread, and this gives a person a great
"taste" of using it.  It's on my list for ordering soon !

Thanks again,

Shannon
