Ok, this is the first time I have entered a new subject, and find that hitting
the enter key sends it!!
This is a message for DISH Network Satellite owners.
Since I know this group is all over the U.S., actually the world, I thought
many of you may be able to answer my questions.
DH and I have a DISH Network Satellite system. We have been noticing the last
few days we are having trouble loosing the signal on some channels, or of the
signal coming and going. We have reset our dish to the angles specified for
our area, Deep South Texas, near S. Padre Island. We have a good signal on
Transponder 01 of 83%, and several other transponders have about this same
strength signal. But several transponders are receiving a much lesser signal,
some in the 40 - 50% range, and several transponders are not locking on a
signal at all. Our son in southern Indiana is receiving a signal of 85% - 95%
on all the transponders. DH has called a couple of dealers here in the area,
and they state they have received many calls of upset customers who are
noticing low signal strength. DH called DISH Network, and they don't seem to
have any reasons for the low signal strength. One person there told DH they
didn't believe we were receiving that low a signal, that this situation was
impossible; If it was a bad signal from the satellite, everyone would be
having trouble, not just a certain region. We've eliminated that the problem
is our receivers, dish, or cables.
My question to RCTNers who have a DISH Network satellite:
1. are you noticing any low signal strength? on all the transponders, or just
some of them?
2. where are you located?
I will watch here for responses, or you may e-mail me privately. If you are
having the same problems, we suggest you contact DISH Network technical
