Are the Liberty Seated 1/2 dimes and dimes going up in price. I have been
buying these off and on as the mood strikes and just noticed what I see as a
large price increase. Some of the common date 1/2 seated dimes and seated
dimes that almost all Price Guides list at $12 to $16 in Fine are being
listed is the near $17 to $25 dollar range in almost all the current coin
flyers/catalogs, I have been recieving. Have I missed something.

Thanks,

James

It's difficult to discern any trends from looking at the price guides.
They can often be very inaccurate and out of date. As for dealers'
price lists, just because they list a coin for X dollars doesn't mean
that they would necessarily refuse a lower offer.

The best way to get an idea of the current market price of some series
is to watch the prices they fetch on ebay. Those give the the actual
prices realized in real transactions.

but its difficult to correlate the actual grade of the coin to the price.
