Aside from Phil V1.0, also known as "Mister Lucky" {insert Henry Mancini
music here..} who found one under his dead monitor..
How many of you have found Type-II 2000-P Cents and in what quantities and
how did you find them?
- pocket change and just got lucky?
- bought machine-wrapped rolls and searched them? If so, how many rolls
did you search and how many did you find?
- bought a 5000 coin bag(s) and searched it/them? If so, how many bags did
you buy and how many did you find?
- gave up looking and just bought one off of eBay? If so, what's a
reasonable price to pay for one? Or has a reasonable price even been
established yet?
Has any percentage of mintage been guesstimated yet by the illuminati out
there? Out of the billions of 2000-P Cents minted, do we know how many
Type IIs there are? Are the numbers in the low thousands? Tens of
thousands? Hundreds of thousands?
Have most of the finds been narrowed down to any particular
city/region/area/state?
I have bought about ten rolls of solid Red Unc. 2000-P cents from two guys
and have so far gone through three rolls and found none. I would buy a bag
of 5000 from back East except the shipping charges to the West Coast are
astronomical as a bag of 5000 cents weighs close to 30 pounds I think..
In Calif., rolls of P-mint anythings are simply not available at banks. We
get D-Mint everything here.
Why are all of the interesting errors nearly always P-Mint coins? :(
Thanks,
Harv
