Large coin thefts in history

I had a discussion the other day with a colleague and we were wondering
what were some of the larger coin thefts in US history.   Not in total value
taken, but the largest number of coins taken at one time.   Coins that would
be
considered of numismatic interest today.   Like, for example, has anyone
ever
robbed a bank, ***, collector, etc. and made off with a few hundred
pounds worth ?

Checd out the Lavere Redfield story.  He got ripped for several hundred bags
of Morgan Silver Dollars in the late 60's early 70's.  Corrct me if I'm
wrong.

Not U.S., but I'll chime in anyways.

A few years ago, a truckload of Canadian loonies was stolen from
a mint storage facility.
