It has gone from 'America's #1 Numismatic News Source Online' to
'DAILY COIN & GOLD INVESTMENT NEWS' and has changed format and
content too it looks like.

I don't know whether I have caught them during a test or if this is a
permanent changeover. If it has changed, it looks like I need to find
a new home page...

Hi Mr. Miller,
Are you asking for volunteer to host your site?
Thanks

Nope, just looking for a new home page for my web browser. Coin Today
is it right now but if it isn't going to be a coin news site, I need
to find a new one.

Stu, the best homepage is "about:blank".  Fastest loading of any homepage,
and does not eat up any bandwidth.  :)  Allows you to get to any page in
your "My Favorites" much faster than ever before!!

Aren't there enough "coin and gold investment" web pages already?
Why do we need another one covering the same kind of information?

I liked the old format better.

Funny you should say that because that was my Home Page before Coin
Today but I did really like having CT as my home page.

Try any of these:

Get your Calvin and Hobbes fix for the day:

I bookmarked this one awhile ago; it belongs to some guy I know:

LOL! I forgot that personal page still existed on the web. Good blast
from the past but I just made it extinct (at least on tripod)! :-)

They used to have cuts and pastes and pointers and links and URLs to news
stories about coins and stuff? Right?  Is that the site I am thinking of?

They would post their top headlines here every week?  Those guys?  The ones
from Canada, eh?

Are we talking about the same people here?

Yep, that's the one. It was a nice little repository of current coin
news gleaned from various newsources on the web.

Bummer.  I tried to interview them twice and they took a long time to
say they would get back with me and then never did.  Now I know why.
It is tough to make a living at the WWW.Thingee.Com business.  They
had some advertising and it was not obnoxious, but apparently the
revenue was not there -- and I know that I never replied to an ad, so
the advertisers probably were not happy.

I thought it was a great site and I actually saw them as burying the
Numismatic Newspapers.

Too bad they were not able to stick with it.

Well, things are looking up. Today, they have added back in some coin
news below the gold and investment stuff.

I am not sure why they are changing focus but I am sure it is
difficult to make money on the web, especially as a free information
source in a limited area.

It also seems to me that click ads are not very effective revenue
sources. I have heard that the actual click rates are unbelievably
low and actual sales to those that click are probably even much lower
than that.

BTW: Here is a google cache of what their About Us page used to say:

http://tinyurl.com/3hpi

and what it says now:

http://www.cointoday.com/about.htm

I'd say that qualifies as a change in focus. :-)
