I have a 1902 Liberty Head with "cents" nickel. Is it worth more than five
cents?

Your coin is certainly worth more than five cents.  Show it to a lot of
your friends and offer to sell it to them for 10 cents.  If one of them
buys it, you know it was worth at least that much to him or her.  My
point is that anything is worth what someone will pay for it.  (Another
one of my brilliant observations offered at no charge.)

As for its vlaue to collectors, it all depends on the condition.  Give us
a description on the degree to which it is worn and of any other problems
it may have (cuts, scratches, holes, etc.) and someone will give you an
idea of its market vlaue.  I would guess it will not be enough to remove
it from the keepsake category into the foundation-of-my-fortune category.

Hope it turns out to be more valuable than you expect,

Dan Masters
