I have this 1994 dime <-- ie. same material /weight/size but it is
stamped as a penny (2 maple leaves/1 cent etc...). it is in perfect
condition. the lower edge is like a penny and the rest of the outer
edge is smooth (like a dime)..basicly, somehow a dime blank got
stamped as a penny.........anyone know how much a coin like this might
be worth? I went to a local coin shop and he couldnt find it in any of
the books (coin collectors books)....help......I can be reached at

John,

In 1994 at the Torex Show, three different examples of the type of
striking error you describe sold for $100 each.  According to Terry
Campbell, these types are scarce to rare on Canadian coins.  My
research indicates that they are fairly scarce on U.S. coins, also.
