Type Set Question

Type Set Question

This is probably a dumb question.  Does Dansco or anyone else make an album
for a 20th Century type set?  If more than one company makes them, which is
the best?  Any opinions?

Type Set Question

If you don't mind living within someone elses definitions of 20th
century type (presumably USA coins?) then Dansco and Whitman delux
are possible choices.  I think these holders are for non-gold only.
I don't think the Whitman delux is made anymore, but with some
hunting you can usually turn up NOS (new-old-stock).

Capital plastics makes a nice 20th century US type set board
that will protect your coins from toning and damage much better
than the albums.  The only down side is that adding or upgrading
coins from time to time is a pain since the holder is held together
with a bunch of screws.

I keep my coins in cardboard-mylar 2x2s inserted into archival
quality photographic slide pages inserted into archival quality
photographic slide notebooks.  This way I can decide what I want
in my set.  How many type sets have you seen that include the
1 year hub combination 1966 Jefferson nickel?

If you live in the San Jose, Ca area, stop by Falcone Jewelry
and Coins.  One of his clients can machine custom plastic holders
similar to but nicer than capital plastics.  I do not know if he
can cut a full size board though, I have only seen small holders
that he has made.

BTW: my 2 year hunt did recently turn up a SMS-65 cam 1966
nickel with 5+ steps for my set; this cost me only the usual
price for an SMS set too!  I'll still keep looking for a better
one, but I have not even heard rumors that such exists...
