Have you recently upgraded your Red Book?

Post by Colin & Vanessa Kynoc » Wed, 27 Oct 1999 04:00:00

Hi

I am interested in purchasing a Red book.  As I live in Australia, and
they overly inflate prices I am appealing to US coin collectors that
have recently upgraded and would be interested in selling.

I would pay in $US cash or $A if you prefer.

If you are interested could you please let me know cost and also surface
mail postage.

Thanking you in anticipation.

I would suspect you can find a current one online at amazon.com or a coin
dealer/supply website for less than the cover price of $US 7.95.

Have you tried Amazon.com...a brand new hardcover copy of the 2000 edition is
only $9.07.

I don't know what shipping down under would cost. A direct link follows:

There's really nothing to "upgrade" in a Redbook, other than to get the new
year's issue.   Dunno what shipping to AU would be, but they only retail for
$12.95 for the new hardback.  I suspect the shipping would be a bigger
killer than the retail price.  If you have any major booksellers in your
area, check and see if they can order it for you when they get a new batch
of books.

The prices in italics may change every year, as
they represent bullion value, so a new issue may be
very important.

Not really.  There's a nice handy chart that lists the bullion values of various
issues based on several different spot prices.  Also you can calculate these
prices rather easily if you know the current spot price, and the
weight/composition of the coin in question.
