Bought a coin today....at a Deli

I was high bidder in an eBay auction that ended Sunday without the reserve
being met. It was for a raw MS-63/64 1934-D Peace Dollar that looked super in
the scan.

I e-mailed the seller after the auction asking him to reveal the reserve
suggesting that perhaps we could strike a deal. He responded that his reserve
was $175 but would consider letting it go for $150 and he would accept a return
if I didn't like it.

I e-mailed back that I was interested and knew from his e-mail address that he
also lived in Connecticut (local phone company ISP). I told him where I lived
and suggested that if he was within driving distance I could view the coin in
person and decide on the spot. It turned out he owned a Deli two towns over and
only 15 minutes away.

I stopped there this afternoon....I bought the coin....a blast white, frosty
example with a minimum of bag marks. This will soon go to NGC and has a real
chance at MS64 based on a comparison with the 10 other NGC 64 Peace Dollars I
own. I'll be satisfied with a grade of 63....thrilled if it makes 64.

I also made a new coin collecting friend....nice guy.

P.S. - While I was there he asked if I collected classic Commems. I said that I
had picked up about 20 halves as he handed me two PCGS slabs. I started to
salivate as I viewed two PCGS 66 Pan Pac $1 gold pieces and muttered,
"uuuh...but not the gold". He had someone stopping by later today to look at
them.

The real question, IMHO,  would be: Where is the Deli?
