The only way a coin shop can get them cheaper is if someone sells them a
set for less than what they paid the mint for it. There is no discount
to bulk sales to dealers this year (yet). As for the silver eagle why
is it so awful? What was the last silver eagle you bought and where did
you buy it from? Was it Unc or Proof? for the last few years the mint
price for the silver eagle proofs has been $23 so they only went up one
dollar. Of course most of the earlier coins have fallen in value in the
aftermarket and can be bought for less than issue price. If you are
comparing the mint price to a coin you bought on the aftermarket you are
not making a fair comparison on whether it is a rip.
