ABBREVIATIONS AND GRADING
"d" means penny, and "1/4d" means farthing.
I have adopted the following conservative, British-style grading
standards:

Uncirculated (Unc):     No trace of wear, but may have minor bag or keg
marks,
                cabinet friction, or spotting.
About Unc (AU): An otherwise Unc specimen with a slight detraction, such
as
extra or more prominent bag or keg marks, cabinet
friction,
                or spotting.
Extremely Fine (EF):Light wear on the highest points of the design, with
details
                   very sharp.
Very Fine (VF): Moderate wear on the high points of the design, with all
                major details clear.
Fine (F):               Moderate to considerable overall wear, but design
is bold,
                with general pleasing appearance.
Very Good (VG): Well worn, but main design features are clear, although
                rather flat.
Good (G):       Heavily worn, with design visible but faint in areas, and
with
                many details gone.

"N", "A", or "G" before a standard grade (such as NVF, AF, and GEF) mean
near, about (or almost), and good, respectively.  A specimen with a
standard grade preceded by a "G" (such as GVF or GEF) has minimal wear for
its grade.  Unlacquered pieces in Unc, AU, or EF condition have some
original mint luster, unless noted otherwise.   "F / VF" means that the
specimen has a F obverse and a VF reverse.  If a range of grades is given
for a single piece, such as "F to about VF", specimens within that grade
range are available at the listed price, and the best specimens will be
sold first.
