I was browsing e-Bay tonight and was astonished to see a 1857-S, S.S.
Central America double eagle that PCGS actually graded less than mint
state!!!!
Although it's been cleaned, it graded AU-58!!!! Wonders never cease!

The announced grade range was 58-66.

Looks like somebody got sucked in by the propaganda, looking for
the fast buck.  First bid $4000, no bids.  The coin didn't
command that price *before* they released 5200 better ones.

There's going to be 5200 lessons in economics taught over the next
few years.
