1979 halves type 1 and 2

Does any one know of a link that shows up close of the mint mark for the
1979 Kennedy half type 1 and 2?  Red book show it for the SBA, but that's
all.

Same.

1979 Type 1 is filled "S". Type 2 is clear & you can generally
see down to the fields inside the loops, whereas the type 1
looks like a peanut shell.

You can use the Redbook SBA images for all 1979 and 1981 Type 1 and Type 2
proofs....cent thru dollar.

the half and the SBA are pretty much the exact same markers.

Ken Potter's website has really excellent comparison photo of the two types
(1&2) of both 79 and 81. It also has some very helpful text attached. And if
anyone knows Mint Mark varieties it's Ken Potter. Check it out. SteveP

Actually Ken's "Educational Image Gallery" only shows the 1981 Type 1 and Type
2 mintmarks:

http://216.71.135.250/potter/image.html

They are at the bottom of the page. The Susan B. Anthony section of the Redbook
shows all three variations of the mintmark for 1979 and 1981.

There are three variations because the 1979 Type 2 is the same as the 1981 Type
1.
