Could someone please give me some idea what a 1900 indian head copper penny is
worth?  It still has pretty good detail and a small dent on the edge.  Serious
replies only, please

Thanks in advance!

Greetings:

The value depends upon condition, and we really need to know more
than what you tell us. For example, how small is that small dent? In
any case it negatively affects the value, but if it is really bad it
could render the coin worthless to a collector. And what do you mean
by pretty good detail? Are all the letters of LIBERTY visible on the
band of the headdress? Can you make out the lines within the shield
above the wreath on the reverse, or have they melded into one another?
Are the lines within the feathers distinct? Is the coin's rim clear
and sharp, or has it worn down into the field?

Without such information, the best anyone can give you is a ball
park estimate. So here it is: 50c to $1.50 retail. This is a really
common coin, so you may not even find a dealer who will give you 10c
for it if that dent is unsightly. Otherwise, figure you might get 50c.

Sorry, no world cruise this time. :-)

     Best of luck anyway.

                                         Regards,
                                         Steve
