Silver Dollars and Kennedy Half Dollars

In the process of administering an estate, I found silver dollars bearing the
following dates; 1892, 1896, 1921, 1922, and 1972. Also in the group were
six Kennedy half dollars. I would appreciate someone giving me an idea of the
worth of these coins, and if they have worth how they might be legitimately
sold.

HELLO, ALL OF YOUR DOLLARS ARE SILVER EXCEPT FOR THE 1972.EACH OF THE SILVER
ONES ARE WORTH AT LEAST $9.00 maybe more depending on their condition. the 1921
is worth at least $ 21.00, maybe more depending on its condition. look on the
backside of the 1890 dollars and seeif there is a mintmark under the eagles
tailfeathers. there will either be no mintmark,  an  o , a cc or an s. are
these dollars fairly wore or can you see great detail?
THE 1972 IS AN EISENHOWER DOLLAR.
IF THE COIN WAS IN CIRCULATION BUY YOURSELF A COKE WITH IT. IF IT IS
UNCIRCULATED( NEVER TOUCHED)
YOU MIGHT WANT TO HOLD ON TO IT TO PASS ALONG TO SOMEONE LATER ON DOWN THE
ROAD.

WHAT DATES ARE THE HALF DOLLARS? IF THEY ARE 1969 OR BEFORE THEY CONTAIN SILER
AND MAY BE WORTH A COUPLE EXTRA BUCKS. IF THEY ARE 1970 OR NEWER AND ARE
CIRCULATED.YOU MIGHT AS WELL SPEND THEM , OR BETTER YET, START A COLLECTION OF
THEM.

AM WILLING TO HELP YOU MORE WITH MORE INFO. YOU CAN SELL THE SILVER DOLLARS TO
A COIN DEALER, BUT LETS FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE REALLY WORTH FIRST SO YOU DONT
GET JIPPED.

Additional information is required to give you an accurate estimate of the
value of the coins you found. We must have an idea of the condition of the
coins first and foremost. Do they look 'new' (uncirculated) or do they show
wear? If they show wear, how much? Do they have mintmarks? What dates are the
Kennedy half dollars (1964 thru 1970 contain silver)? Does the 1921 Silver
dollar have the same design as the 1892 and 1896 (Morgan dollars) or does it
have the same design as the 1922 (Peace dollar)? Both types were minted in
1921.

The 1892 and 1896 Morgan dollars have the best chance to be worth a substantial
amount if they have mintmarks. Look at the reverse of the coin below the bottom
of the wreath (center). You will be looking for  a small 'S', 'O' or 'CC' (San
Francisco, New Orleans and Carson City respectively).

If the 1921 dollar has the same design as the ones from the 1890s it is a
relatively common date. If it has the same design as the 1922 it could be worth
$120 or more if it is uncirculated (lesser amounts for circulated grades).

The 1922 dollar is a common date Peace dollar. Look for a mintmark ('S' or 'D'
for Denver) on the reverse side along the left edge in the triangle formed by
the eagles' tail and the word ONE. A mintmark would add some value.

The 1972 Eisenhower (Ike) dollar is most likely a common copper-nickel version
and perhaps worth a couple of dollars if uncirculated.

As for the Kennedy half dollars....need the dates and a description of the
condition. If they are dated from 1964 to 1970 they contain silver and will be
worth at least their bullion value.

E-mail me at my AOL address with the requested additional information if you
would like more help.
