I just last night found out something that perhaps everyone else knows. It
wouldn't be the first time. I have a friend who works for the local Miller
distributor making deliveries. I told him to let me know if they get any
more unusable kegs returned to them. I saw him last night and he said to
check Daves (a local bar, for referrence). Anyway, this place had a fire a
while back, as did another bar/brewery in Port Washington. Apparently,
distributors will not take back kegs that have been in a fire. He says that
both these places have piles of them outback (why they haven't sold them as
s***yet is beyond me...perhaps because some are still full). This coming
week I'm going to check to see if they have some available for real cheap.
Just somethign to think about rather than getting half barrels from your
friends, which is technically illegal.
