brewing equipment and info ins SF bay area needed

Post by Brian Hernack » Thu, 06 Jun 1996 04:00:00

Hello,

I moved to the San Francisco bay area recently and have finally
gotten my brewing gear unpacked. SO I'm ready to start
brewing again.

Anyone around the area (Santa Clara/Silicon Valley actually)
know any good places to start looking for supplies/info/etc?

Thanks

I don't know anywhere exactly in your area but you're not far away
from SF. My favorite store here is Brewcraft at 17th and Clement.
The guys there are very helpful and prices are excellent. One of the
best things about this store is that its open on Sunday afternoons.
Oak Barrel Winecraft on San Pablo in Berkeley is also definitely
worth a trip. Its a great store with every kind of Malt/Hops/Yeast
you're likely to use. This is also the best place I know if you're
primarily an extract brewer or into Winemaking.

Enjoy your brewing,

You could pick up a copy of the "Celebrator" at better beer and wine
stores. Every issue they list all the local (SF Bay) brewery supply
places and some of the better brew pubs like Lions brewery in Dublin.
Personally I go to" Fermantation Frenzy" in Mountain view or "Hops"
out in Livermore  also "B.R.E.W." in San Lorenzo(sp?) has a lot of
supplies.
