I replaced mine with the 18" parachute that came with my AT Initiator. If you
remade the fins so that they were TTW, that little 12" parachute would
probably be just fine.

The chute that came with the kit looks awfully small for a rocket of
this weight. How does this chute actually perform under real launch
conditions? Is it sufficient for the rocket?

I flew my first one on a G40. It was last
seen 3/4 mile downwind and still going. It was never found.
I now have another one and may use a streamer.

A good recommend is a 24" Thin-mil X-form parachute from Top Flight
Recovery. THis way you get a much lower sink rate and very low drift.
